EMERGENCY SERVICES

The Emergency Services Department at Magee General Hospital strives to offer patients the most comprehensive emergency medical services department. The department is staffed by full-time physicians specializing in emergency care, and qualified R.N.'s with expertise in specialized patient care.

Our Emergency Services include:

• 24-hours per day, seven days a week, in-house Emergency Physician staffing
  
• Emergency nurses on staff 24 hours a day, everyday
  
• Pediatric size emergency equipment Certified Emergency Nurses on staff 24 hours a day, everyday
• Central monitoring system for continuous evaluation of vital signs
• Fully-equipped general emergency rooms and trauma rooms
• R.N.'s with Advanced Cardiac Life Support training and certification
• Additional staff training in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
• Emergency services are supported 24 hours a day by the following:

  • Radiology
  • Respiratory therapy
  • Pharmacy
  • CT scanner
  • MRI services

For minor emergencies, an After-Hours Clinic located near the hospital is open seven days a week. Office hours are: 5 -10 p.m., Monday-Friday; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday; and 1 – 6 p.m. on Sunday. No appointment is necessary; call 601-849-5321 for more information.
